HUE & ME · YOUR INFORMATION

Cookies & device storage

What stays on your device, why it is there, and what you can change.

Last updated October 8, 2026

No advertising-cookie choices to manage.

Hue & Me’s coloring experience uses storage for account access and the features you choose. It does not use advertising cookies or behavioral analytics trackers. Remembering your nickname is optional.

What this means

Cookies are small pieces of information a site can store on your device. Local storage and app storage are similar tools that can keep information between visits. Hue & Me primarily uses local storage for its sign-in session and saved nickname.

Storage that is necessary for a feature you request, such as keeping your account signed in, is different from optional advertising tracking. We explain that storage here. We do not ask you to accept advertising trackers that the coloring experience does not use.

What is stored

Account session · necessary for account features

Supabase authentication information keeps your guest or email account available and lets you access rooms, artwork, and purchases. It is normally stored under a name beginning with sb- and ending in -auth-token.

Stored on the device and refreshed as needed. It can remain between visits until the session is removed, ends, or site/app data is cleared. Clearing it can lose this device’s access to guest artwork.

Saved nickname · optional

If you choose “Remember my nickname on this device,” your nickname is stored as afterglow-nickname to prefill a room form. Older versions may already have saved a nickname. You can forget it below.

Stays until you change or forget it, turn remembering off when submitting a room form, or clear site data. Your room’s shared nickname is also stored with the room; that is separate from this device preference.

Nickname choice · preference control

hue-me-remember-nickname records whether you chose to remember your nickname. New visitors start with remembering off. This small setting also keeps your choice to forget it.

Stays until you change the choice or clear site data. It contains a yes/no setting, not an account token.

Hidden artwork · app-only display preference

The iPhone/iPad app keeps a local list of hidden artwork and its account references so those pictures stay hidden on that device. The app also keeps its web sign-in data separately from Safari.

The hidden list changes when you remove or restore artwork. Account deletion also clears that account’s hidden-artwork list from this device in the updated app; other accounts’ lists stay intact. Removing the app can remove local data; device backups may retain copies. Hiding an artwork does not erase its online copy.

Temporary controls and verification

Open dialogs, selected colors, email-verification screens, and similar interface state may be held temporarily in memory. The recovery sign-in client does not persist its temporary session to browser storage. A successful sign-in or restore updates your normal account session.

Temporary interface state normally ends when the page or app reloads. Verified accounts, linked artwork, and purchase records remain on our servers as described in the Privacy Policy.

Deletion recovery · necessary when you request deletion

hue-me-deletion-cleanup temporarily keeps the account reference and confirmation details on the requesting device. It lets the app check whether deletion completed if a connection fails and retry local cleanup. It contains no password or authentication token.

Removed when deletion and device cleanup are confirmed. If that fails, it can remain until cleanup succeeds or you clear site data. The server completion check is available for 24 hours.

Your controls

Forget your saved nickname

Stop prefilling your nickname on this device. Your account, purchases, and saved artwork stay available. Nicknames already recorded in shared rooms and artwork are not changed.

You can also change the remember-nickname checkbox when creating or joining a room. Submitting that form saves your choice.

Your browser can block or clear site storage. Your device settings control app data and permissions. Blocking account storage can prevent sign-in, purchase recovery, or access to rooms and artwork.

Before clearing all storage: make sure you can recover the account or save images you want to keep. Guest artwork may become inaccessible if its only session is erased. Clearing storage is not a request to delete server-side information; use Account & data for that.

Other services

Vercel and Supabase operate the website, account features, and associated security services. Depending on the service and security checks involved, providers may use necessary storage or process technical request information.

If you choose website checkout, Stripe’s hosted checkout has its own cookies and privacy controls. Apple handles its own account and purchase settings. These services have their own notices:
